There is a version of event photography that produces a lot of photographs of people holding glasses and looking at the camera. Those photographs are fine. They document that the event happened. But they are not usually the ones that end up on walls or get sent to people years later. The photographs that last are the ones taken when nobody was posing.
How we approach a garden party or private dinner ¶
We arrive before the guests do. Not to photograph the empty tables, though sometimes those images are worth having, but to understand the space, the light, and where the natural gathering points will be. We identify where the golden hour will hit the garden, where people will cluster around the food, and where the quiet moments are likely to happen. Then we stay out of the way.
The golden hour at an outdoor event ¶
For summer events in southern Brazil, the light changes significantly between 17h30 and 18h30. If the event runs through that window, we position ourselves to make the most of it. Guests standing in late afternoon light, a glass catching the sun, a child running across the lawn. These are the images that feel like the event actually felt, not like a record of it.
What we deliver and how long it takes ¶
For a four-to-six-hour event, we typically deliver between 120 and 180 edited images. Every image is edited individually. The gallery is delivered through a private online link within three weeks of the event. Files are full resolution with embedded ICC profiles, ready for printing. We also offer a printed proof book as an add-on, produced at our São Paulo lab.
How to book event coverage for the summer season ¶
Summer dates between November and February fill quickly, but July and August also see a lot of outdoor celebrations in Brazil, particularly along the Santa Catarina coast. We recommend getting in touch at least two months before the event date. We visit the location beforehand when possible, or ask for photographs and a floor plan if the event is in another city.
