Ready to book a session?
We plan every outdoor session around the specific quality of light at that location on that date. Not a ring light in a studio. The real thing, timed to the minute.
We shoot on a Fujifilm GFX system. The files are large, the tonal range is wide, and the prints hold up at any size you want to hang on a wall.
Each gallery takes two to three weeks. We do not rush the colour work. Every image is graded individually, not batch-processed with a preset.

Most people arrive at a portrait session thinking about what to wear. That is reasonable. But the single biggest factor in how the photographs turn out is not the outfit. It is the timing. In southern Brazil, the golden hour arrives later than most people expect, and it lasts for less time than most photographers admit.

When we say archival, we mean a specific thing: a print made on acid-free cotton-rag paper with pigment-based inks that, under normal indoor conditions, will not fade or shift colour for well over a hundred years. That is not marketing language. It is a measurable standard.
Read more →There is a version of event photography that produces a lot of photographs of people holding glasses and looking at the camera. Those photographs are fine. They document that the event happened. But they are not usually the ones that end up on walls or get sent to people years later. The photographs that last are the ones taken when nobody was posing.
Read more →Rafael Andrade trained as a photojournalist at the Universidade Federal do Paraná and spent seven years covering news for a regional paper in Curitiba before founding Dusk Montage in 2017. He is obsessed with the quality of light in the forty minutes before sunset, which his colleagues at the paper found impractical and his clients now find indispensable. He reads a lot of Sebastião Salgado interviews, keeps a film camera in his bag for personal work, and makes a genuinely good espresso. He is based in Curitiba and travels for sessions without complaint.
